Devin is Cognition's autonomous software engineer. Where a coding agent assists a developer, Devin takes the whole task: given a scoped ticket, it plans the work, writes the code, runs the tests, and delivers a reviewable result. It runs in the cloud, is reachable from Slack, and connects to Devin Desktop — the editor formerly known as Windsurf, which Cognition acquired and renamed in June 2026.
